Meet the Team
Dr Kate Gilding
Kate is a vet with over 15 years experience. She has worked in both equine and Small animal practice.
Kate and Andy have worked along side in another in previous practices and she has returned to the North Wales area to join North Wales Equine Dental Practice and further develop her equine dentistry.
Kate is married to Tom and is a mum to 3 exhausting boys, Finn, Gabriel and Theo. She lives over in Cheshire with multiple dogs and other assorted pets!
Dr Caroline Morgan
Caroline is a veterinary surgeon and has been working in first opinion equine practice since graduating in 2010. She has worked locally in North Wales for the last decade and has a Certificate of Advanced Veterinary Practice in equine medicine. She has joined the North Wales Equine Dental team to focus on dentistry and study towards her BAEDT qualification.
Free time for Caroline usually involves running after two small children, two dogs or a small flock of sheep. She is also trying to hone her newly found gardening skills and would welcome any green-fingered tips.
Rachel Hough
Rachel is an Equine Dental Technician based in Lancashire.
After previously working as a showjumping groom, Rachel took the opportunity to complete a UK based course in Equine Dentistry in 2009 and began to develop her own client base. Rachel is a fully qualified equine dental technician and member of BAEDT having passed the rigorous BEVA/BVDA dental exam.
In her spare time, Rachel enjoys keeping active attending an (often muddy) outdoor fitness group, along with walking and spending time with her much loved dog Belle, and Irish sports horse Oscar, who's been with her ever since 1999! Although now semi retired from regular showjumping competition he still enjoys hacking, schooling and the odd trip to the beach or farm ride
Dr. Andy Peffers B.Vet Med MRCVS. EDT
Andy is a veterinary surgeon and qualified equine dental technician with over 20 years experience. He is married to Mandy and has two children Hamish and Archie.
The whole family are into riding Mandy events at pre-novice level on Flo, Andy rides Lomond Mandy's retired eventer and both boys are in the pony club with their 2 ponies Saffy and Biffy.
When Andy is not being taken to horse shows or pony club events he goes to Old Trafford to watch Manchester United, a hobby that has become much more stressful in the last two years.
Emily Rolton
Emily is Assistant Equine Veterinary Nurse and is the person responsible for trying to keep Andy organised and on time! Emily is married to John and has a son named Sam.
Emily has a five year old Cob cross called Kay that she uses for hacking, fun rides and cross country. In the summer evenings Emily can be seen hacking along the country lanes with her husband and his cob Noah, they have been known to occasionally stop at the pub.
When not helping Andy with horse's teeth or riding, Emily works on her smallholding which includes sheep, pigs, chickens and a very productive poly tunnel.
Christine Owen RVN Pg Cert VBM
Christine is our Practice Manager. Christine has over 14 years experience within the veterinary profession and qualified as a veterinary nurse in 2013. Since qualifying Christine has worked in some of the largest equine hospitals within Newmarket and Australia. With a growing interest in management, Christine went on to complete a Postgraduate Certificate in Veterinary Business Management in 2018.
In her spare time, Christine will be found looking after her little boy and walking her lovely dog Brynli.
